Do people go to the gym to work out anymore?
I recently started going back to the gym, because I wanted to get back to my standard of physical shape. I use to be a gym rat (but now, I just look like a rat). But what I’ve noticed is that there’s so many social politics and so many posers there that it’s ridiculous. It makes me really wonder if (some) people are really there to work out. I’ve been in and out of the gym for years, so I’ve seen it all. I can break down every stereotype or generalization at these gyms. It’s the same shit, just different odours. First, we have the fat guy with big arms and chicken legs, who doesn’t work out. He’s just there to socialize, he’s friends with everyone and talks about things like whey protein, women and UFC. Then there’s the “swinger” the kid that weighs 125 lbs (soaking wet holding 2 bricks).
The weak dude that swings (for momentum) when using machines. And instead of lowering the weight, he’ll swing his way into an injury. Then there’s the “screaming attention whore”. Who makes it a point for everyone to see how many plates he lifts. And if you don’t see him, he’ll make sure you hear his screams after every rep. Then there’s the 400 lbs guy that insists on doing leg presses and power lifting, and act like the cardio machines have Ebola. Then there are the “thirsty hoe bags” that come there with their friend and don’t work out.
Instead, they just gossip and hope that a muscle man will give them attention. Then there’s “the rich man’s sexy wife” who disrupts the whole gym whenever she walks by. I can go on and on. But my point is, why do people have to perverse the gym experience with their fuckery? Why can’t they just workout and get the fuck out? And another thing for some of you guys, please bath your skin before going to the gym? Yea, I get it; you’re at the gym, so you sweat. But I shouldn’t be smelling tilapia fish and perspiring balls when you just finished doing concentration curls.
