Pakistan School Massacre
Rest in peace to all the victims of Monday’s tragedy. A lot of times, we overlook things that happen overseas. But all those lives matter as much as our own. For the last few decades, Arabic and Muslim people in general, have been unjustifiably criminalized, and some people lack compassion for them, for the same reason some people lack compassion for African-Americans. But despite skin color, religion or financial or social status, we’re all human and have the same sentiments.
It’s sad that those students were the victims of warfare, but that’s what warfare is all about; you have to be vicious and ruthless. The issue had nothing to do with those kids, but they were the ones that were attacked. That’s how it always goes; the powerless gets attacked first like a pawn. I hope people can look past their cultural and religious differences and take in things that are going on globally. It’s more than just on to the next headline or gossip for me. This tragedy is really messed up, a lot of us will be upset about Ferguson, and won’t bat an eye towards this situation (which is totally wrong). I hope people can overlook their differences and unite as people after tragedies like this because all the innocent blood shed isn’t worth it.
