The lynching of Eric Garner
There’s another race war going on in America right now as we speak. Many people have told me that it’s not about race. It’s about police brutality, or how African-Americans treat each other, but the lowest common denominator is white supremacy. I’ve been debating on this topic with peers, as well as suspected white supremacist online, and what I’ve noticed is that if you are a black person and you call out racism or injustice, you’re automatically labelled radical, pro-black, racist or using the “race card”. But why should anyone get branded with a negative stigma if they call out racism or injustice? The Jewish community has gone through the holocaust and other oppressions, and they have every right to have a discussion and create museums or memorials without judgement being placed on them. The gay community can call out injustice as well, but we never hear the term “they’re using the gay card”.
Now, this brings us to the Eric Garner tragedy. I knew hell was gonna break loose when George Zimmerman got off for killing Trayvon Martin. The message was clear; you can kill a black man (with a black man as president). There’s nothing the government can or will do about it, and more importantly, there’s nothing you can do about it. The African-American community complained and protested for a while, then went back to partying, buying products, and other time wasting activities (for the most part), and that made them look weak. So after that reaction, the white supremacist started stocking up on guns (while black people continued to buy Jordans and weaves).
Now, you have “cops” like Darren Wilson killing black teens to fulfill his racist fantasies. They are millions of hard-working dedicated cops out there that aren’t racist, and they’re getting a bad name right now. But Darren Wilson isn’t a police officer; he’s a race soldier (according to Neely Fuller). They are dressed like officers, but their ideology is that of a white supremacist. George Zimmerman even applied to be a race soldier. Being a race soldier allows you to abuse people of color and have no repercussion towards you. Being a white supremacist is a billion dollar industry. Even Hollywood got in on this. The Death Wish series (1974-1994) was about a middle-aged vigilante, going to the ghetto, killing people of color in his own version of justice. The Death Wish series was a great commercial and critical success in the 70’s and 80’s. Even now, movies like “The Purge’ are about mostly White, affluent people, with a desire to “purge” society of certain people of color.
But I digress a little, the CNN coverage has been disturbing and sickening; instead of focusing on the real issue (racism), they’re focusing on the protest, and technicalities with the case. It’s really sad and an extremely bad look for America. It’s like America is openly abusing their red-headed step child, and they know that they’re wrong, but they don’t want anyone calling them out because they’re the worlds “ big brother”. Also, this is African-American’s cry for help from the world; all they want is to be free. They want to be free from oppression, hate, and violence. They don’t care about money or power; they just don’t want to bury their family members for being black. Mike Browns’ family even went to the UN about this human rights issue. But it makes me wonder if the UN is afraid to intervene because they don’t want to alienate their relationship with America. We all know that America is a global powerhouse, and they don’t like being called out. I don’t know if they will do anything about this because they’re selective with who they will aide anyway.
People always say that blacks are killing each other anyway, so what difference does it make? But first of all, Chicago is an isolated issue; “ black on black” crime is down across America, and I don’t like the term “black on black crime” because it’s a poverty issue, black people in middle class areas aren’t killing each other. Also, every country has poverty and crime. But you’ve never heard “white on white crime” in Europe, but I digress; the black community is just mirroring the treatment done to them for the last 400 years. Similarly, if a boy sees his mother being abused, some boys will do the opposite to women, and others will mimic that same behavior of their father. Furthermore, everyone who kills fellow black men immediately gets charged and convicted, not like this nonsense going on.
We have a lot of black coons saying that we are our worst enemy, and we need to dress properly. But during the civil rights movement, those brothers were “well spoken” and shapely dressed, and they still -got hung in their Armani suits. In the sixties, African-Americans built their own “black Wall street” in Tulsa Oklahoma, and the government bombed there. So, that didn’t work either. But another thing that I find peculiar is the way the media is always looking into the victim’s background? During the Boston marathon bombing, you didn’t hear them smearing those victim’s character. So why do we have to look into the victim’s pass in these cases? How is this any different from the slut walk? Do you tell women not to “dress slutty” and don’t provoke men into raping them? Do they bring that on their selves? Are they their own worst enemy? It was heart breaking when they interviewed Eric Garner’s widow, and she had to remind everyone that Mr. Garner was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. I have nothing left to say, just don’t allow anyone to break your spirit.
